Privacy Policy
GeneratorNickname does not ask you to register, does not run advertising, and does not load any analytics service. The site records aggregated counts — how often a name is generated, copied, liked or disliked — and stores nicknames that visitors choose to contribute. Nothing on this site is tied to an account, a profile or an advertising identifier.

What we do not do
These are the claims most privacy policies get wrong by copying a template. On this site they are accurate and you can check them yourself by opening your browser’s network panel.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Matomo, Plausible, Clarity or Facebook pixel on any page.
- No advertising. No ad network runs here, so there are no advertising or retargeting cookies to consent to.
- No accounts. You cannot sign up, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the generator.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. We hold almost nothing that identifies a person, and we do not sell, rent or trade what we do hold.
- No comments. Commenting is disabled site-wide, so there is no comment form collecting names or email addresses.
What happens when you use the generator
When you type a word into GeneratorNickname and press generate, that word is sent to our own server, which returns the styled variants. We keep a count of how many times each word was generated, stored as a plain daily total — the word itself, the day, and a number.
These counts are what tell us that, say, a particular name is being generated hundreds of times a week and deserves its own page. They are aggregated: the stored row says how often a word was generated, never who generated it. There is no session identifier, cookie or account tying a word back to you. Daily counter rows are pruned once they are older than 35 days.
Practical consequence: do not type information you would not want counted. The generator is for nicknames, so type the nickname you want styled — not your full legal name, your address, a password or anything else private. Styling happens on our server, not on your device, so the input does leave your browser.
Nicknames you contribute, copy or vote on
Some pages carry a public list of nicknames for a given name, ordered by how often each entry has been copied and how it has been voted. When you contribute a nickname, copy one, or press like or dislike, the following is recorded:
- The nickname text itself, which becomes publicly visible on that name’s page.
- Counters — copies, likes and dislikes — stored as daily totals and pruned after 35 days, so the ranking reflects a rolling recent window rather than an all-time score.
No author identity is attached to a contribution. We do not store a username, an email address or a profile alongside it, so a contributed nickname cannot be traced back to the person who sent it — including by us.
Because contributions are public, please do not submit anything that identifies a real person: a full legal name, a phone number, a school or workplace, or someone else’s handle. If a nickname built from your real name or handle has appeared on the site, write to us and we will take it down — see how to send a removal request. Removal requests are handled ahead of everything else, and we do not require a legal form to act on one.
Technical data and your IP address
Your IP address is visible to our server the way it is to every website you visit, and we use it for two narrow purposes.
- Request tokens. The generator asks our server for a short-lived token before each batch of calls, and that token is bound to the address it was issued to. This stops the endpoints from being scripted at volume by someone who is not using the site.
- Abuse prevention. A request log records an address together with a timestamp so that repeated abuse can be blocked. It holds no browsing history, no page list and nothing tying an address to anything you generated.
Our server also writes ordinary web-server logs, which include the requested URL, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. These are operational records used to diagnose faults, and they are not combined with generator data to build a profile.
Cookies
A normal visit to this site sets no cookies from us. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookie.
Two exceptions are worth naming honestly. WordPress sets session cookies when someone signs in to the site’s administration area, which applies to our editorial team and not to visitors. Separately, our security and delivery provider may set a short-lived cookie of its own to distinguish real browsers from automated traffic; that is described below.
Third parties that receive anything
Two external services are involved in serving this site, and both receive your IP address as an unavoidable part of delivering content to you. No other third party is loaded on our pages.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load the Poppins typeface from Google’s font servers, so your IP address and browser details reach Google when a page renders. Google states that font requests are not used to build advertising profiles, but the request is real and you should know about it.
- Cloudflare. The site is served through Cloudflare, which sits between your browser and our server for security and speed. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details, and may set a short-lived cookie to tell browsers apart from bots. Cloudflare also obfuscates email addresses printed on our pages, which is why an address may briefly appear as “[email protected]” before your browser reveals it.
Pages on this site sometimes link out to game or platform websites. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else’s site, under their policy, and this one no longer applies.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In practice there is very little to collect: there is no account, no profile and no contact field anywhere on the site.
The one thing a younger visitor could do is contribute a nickname containing personal details. If you are a parent or guardian and something identifying your child has appeared here, email us and we will remove it without asking you to prove anything first.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
We will answer any such request honestly, and the honest answer is usually the same: because nothing here is linked to an identity, we normally have no record we can retrieve that belongs to you specifically. What we can always do is remove a particular nickname or entry from the site, and that is the request we can act on most concretely. Send it to the address below.
Security, and changes to this policy
The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access is restricted, and the little data we hold sits on our own server rather than being spread across third-party tools. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page and rewrite the affected section rather than quietly adjusting wording. If a change ever means we start collecting something genuinely new, it will be stated plainly in the relevant section, not buried.
Contact us about privacy
Privacy questions, deletion requests and removal requests all reach the same inbox, and the address to write to is published on our contact page. Put REMOVAL in the subject line if you want something taken down, and include the page URL and the exact entry. We aim to reply within five business days, and removal requests jump the queue — the contact page also lists what to include so we can act on your first message.
